Meeting times and dates will be posted here upon scheduling through 2024.

The Eastern Sierra Towns to Trails Plan effort is underway!  

“Towns to Trails” will identify a multi-use network that will connect Eastern Sierra communities to each other and to public lands throughout the region as well as to destinations south and north. 
 
Please come to our meetings to hear more about the project, meet the team, and share your ideas!
TOWNS TO TRAILS - COLLABORATIVE PLANNING - PHASE 1 PUBLIC MEETINGS:

September 11-14, 2023, the team held in-person stakeholder meetings by county (Inyo, Mono, Alpine) to discuss trail opportunities, explore potential alignments, and identify connections between communities and surrounding public lands. Opportunities and challenges derived from these discussions will be utilized in subsequent trail planning efforts and shared in a forthcoming series of stakeholder meetings.

PHASES & NEXT STEPS
COLLABORATIVE PLANNING PHASE 1,  MEETING #2:
FALL 2023

Building on the information gathered in the first meeting, we will discuss potential gap closures and pilot projects.

COLLABORATIVE PLANNING PHASE 2 MEETINGS:
WINTER/SPRING 2024

In 2024 we will reconvene the county stakeholder groups to build upon the information gathered in Phase 1.  We will follow up on items identified in the previous phase and address pertinent questions in order to further review and refine potential alignments and explore pilot projects.

DRAFT PLAN REVIEW: SUMMER/FALL 2024

The planning team will come back with a draft trails plan for review by the country stakeholder groups after following up on next steps and information identified in phases 1 + 2 and verifying data as needed (potentially ground truthing potential alignments.) 

FINAL PLAN DELIVERY: LATE 2024
After addressing feedback from the draft plan review, the team will present the final regional trails plan!
